New Golf consume less than outgoing model thanks to the new body design and technology. Although it didn’t achieve an aim that consume equal to factory specifications which is 3.9l/100, its fuel comsumption is 6.7l/100 in urban and is not bad for proper family car.
Engine and Transmission
New Golf has got three different petrol engine, 1.2 TSI 105 HP, 1.4 TSI 122HP, 1.4 TSI 140 HP and two different diesel 1.6 TDI 90 HP, 1.6 TDI 105 PS. Because our test car has TDI engine it has technology whose name is common rail direct injection. As a result it develops 105 bhp from 3000 to 4000 rpm and 250 Nm torque from 1500 to 2750 rpm hence Golf gives you lots of fun thanks to its 1313 kg curb weight. New Golf great car for daily routines and due to DSG gearbox it has astonishingly fast gear changes as well. The engine takes 10.7 sec to reach 100 kph from standstill and maximum speed of new car is 192 kph.
Equipments and Price Tag
New golf is starting from 57.000 Turkish Lira as 1.2 TSI BMT 105 PS with a midline plus package. If you want automatic gearbox whose proper name is DSG that is kind of a double clutch gearbox, you must pay 9k extra. If you want diesel engine which is very economical you must pay 13k extra. Finally, if you want both of them like our test car you must pay 82.500 tl. New golf has a very long equipment list like a Mercedes E class. Unfortunately, only tiny bit of them is standart. Therefore ,even though our test car is comfortline package and also has 82k price tag which is almost second hand c class money there is no useful equipment at all. To get crusue control, rainy, park,light sensor and satellite navigation you need to have Highline version of Golf and this is 8 k extra hence final price tag is 90k that is brand-new Audi A3 price. To conclude, if you want to buy a Golf, you should get much basic one which is 1.2 petrol and manuel version and has 55k price tag.
New platform and efficient engines make the car best Golf ever. Its DSG gearbox, brilliant exterior and interior design distinguish Golf from other c class compact hatchbacks. Therefore, it is obvious that Golf’s competitiveness aims luxury car makers such as Audi, Mercedes and Bmw not the Ford, Peugeot or Renault like outgoing model does.
